Guests will want to wear comfortable shoes when visiting The Mimms. The museum has over 35,000 square feet of walking area. Ample seating is available throughout the museum and two wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Mimms does not require advanced purchase of admission tickets.

Parking at The Mimms is free and conveniently located near the main entrance.

Guests spend on average 1.5 hours touring the museum. The last admission tickets are sold 45 minutes before closing.

Mimms Museum of Technology and Art, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, relies on admission fees, donations, gift shop sales, and membership revenue, to support the museum’s collection, exhibitions, and educational programs.

No food or drinks are permitted in the museum except for sealable plastic water bottles.

Please leave backpacks, suitcases, over-sized purses, diaper bags, and the likes at home or in the car. If you must bring them to the museum, please be aware they will have to remain at the admissions entrance until your visit is complete.

We encourage visitors to take photos and record video for personal and social media memories. Be sure to use #themimms whenever posting. There are a few selfie stations located throughout the museum. In the Tribute to Apollo exhibit, guests can record friends and family in slow motion on the surface of the moon where it appears they are in zero gravity.  In another spot, snap a picture next to the IBM Summit graphic while appearing to be on the raised floor at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Ask any staff member or volunteer at the museum for help locating these photo opportunities.

The Mimms is located on one floor with wide enough spaces for wheelchair, walker, or cane use. Seating is available throughout.

Artifact donations must be submitted online for review and evaluation by the collections team prior to accepting.

Mimms Museum of Technology and Art is suitable for all ages with several hands-on activities throughout the space. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

There are many benefits to a membership to The Mimms including unlimited visits, and discounts in the gift shop and to events.  An admission ticket may be applied towards the purchase of membership on the same day of museum visit.
